Privacy Policy

Tourative (“we”, “us”) provides the Tourative mobile app and the tourative.com website, helping travellers discover destinations and community-written routes across Bangladesh. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign up or sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple, or email/password, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo (if provided by the sign-in method).
• Profile and content you add. Username, bio, favorite spots, itineraries, reviews, comments, and any route submissions or photos you choose to post.
• Location. With your permission, we use your device’s location on-device to show nearby spots, the map, and prayer-time/Qibla direction, and to fetch local weather from our weather provider. We do not store your location on our servers.
• Push notification token. If you enable notifications, we store a device push token (not a raw device identifier) so we can deliver notifications to you.
• Usage and diagnostics. We use PostHog for product analytics (screen views and in-app events) and Sentry for crash and error reporting, so we can fix bugs and improve the app. Text you type into input fields is masked in analytics session replay.

How we use your information

We use this data to operate the app and website, personalize your experience, moderate community submissions, send you notifications you opt into, and diagnose and fix problems. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not show ads.

Sharing

We share data with service providers who help us run Tourative — including our hosting provider, PostHog and Sentry for analytics and crash reporting, and OpenWeatherMap for weather data (your device contacts OpenWeatherMap directly with your coordinates when you view the weather widget). We do not share your personal data with anyone else except as required by law.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account from within the app under Settings, which permanently removes your account and associated profile data. You can also request deletion by emailing toursyformal@gmail.com from the email address on your account.

Data security

All data in transit between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text.

Children

Tourative is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
